| NEBRASKA SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION annual banquet was held in Hastings January-16. Numberous awards are given out to players and coaches from the state and this year the TRAVELERS came home with 2 awards. The Leadership award is given out to a 16-under player that shows great leadership on and off the field, not only in softball but in all activites that they are involved in. Lisa and Julianne Kopf were nominated for this award and they were co winners. I was nominated for the Jim Lewis Memorial award by several coaches from the area. This award is given to a person who has made outstanding contributions and played a important role in the growth and development of softball in Nebraska. I was very surprised and honored to receive this award. The season is just around the corner and I will be setting the date for a team meeting in the near futher, so please check back soon.
